• 80 hours of medical interpreter training. You will receive Course Manual, MAMI Bilingual Glossary. Taught by a training team: a licensed BTG instructor (Supervisor), an Interpreter Trainer, and a Medical Trainer (Registered Nurse).
• Course topics: interpreting skills, ethics and procedures as well as medical basic anatomy, common illness and treatments, culture-brokering, communication skills and extensive interpreting practice, tours of facilities.
• Role plays, cultural exchange, medical drill across the 17 sessions, including a written exam and benchmark oral evaluations.
• Upon passing the written exam, you will be eligible to work as a MAMI interpreter !
• Optional - In four months, pass MAMI oral exam, receive MAMI Certificate in Medical Interpreting. |
