Give Kids A Smile
MAMI Interpreters has assisted with interpreters and photography at the annual “Give Kids a Smile” event. “Give Kids a Smile” is a national program, sponsored by the American Dental Association that provides free oral health care services to children from low-income families across the county. Some 200 children of Oneida, Madison and Herkimer counties in New York received free dental care.
“MAMI has joined in this community effort to increase access to dental care among children,” noted MAMI Executive Director Cornelia Brown. “We are delighted to support this effort. Seeing the smiles on children’s faces makes it all worthwhile.”
In the past, this local event has been organized by Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare’s Dental Health Center, the Mohawk Valley Perinatal Network and Upstate Cerebral Palsy. It was made possible by grants from the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare (FSLH) and the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area.
